 Organizing with Style: Your Photos
Summer is always a great time to start organizing. Rather than looking at this as a daunting task, try taking on a new area each month. Tired of looking at those photo envelopes? Do any of your photo albums match? Photo boxes can preserve your memories while adding style to your home. Why not host a photo party? Go ahead, set the date, get the menu in order, and invite a group of your girlfriends and/or relatives over. Encourage your guests to bring their photos and let the fun begin!
Tips: - Start by categorizing the photos by year, event or theme (all vacation pictures together, all wedding pictures together). Create category piles. Remember, amongst all the fun, the idea is to be organized.
- Create labels for each category and each event. The event labels will describe the event within each category (i.e. Category = Weddings, event = Sue and Bob June 6, 2001).
- If you have double prints of photos that you probably won’t use, they will just take up space. Try giving them to your guests or sending them to someone who shared the photographic moment with you.
- Always keep photos stored in a dry place
